Avoiding Ableist Language

July 2024
By NTI

July 1st marks the start of Disability Pride Month! This month is about raising awareness about disability rights, promoting inclusion, and challenging societal stigma and ableism.

To kick off Disability Pride Month, we have created a guide on Ableist Language. The words we use hold power and influence the world around us. It is all our responsibility to make sure the language we use is inclusive and doesn’t continue to add to stigmatization of people with disabilities.

Read the guide here.
