Anne Hughes discussing her experience working with NTI

In 2017, Anne Hughes started searching online for work-at-home jobs and stumbled across NTI. She had been unemployed for 17 years after an injury made it impossible to work but she was ready to try and work again. She didn't really think much would come from NTI but registered and started the process.

Anne had trouble at first getting through all the required steps in NTI’s process. She admits that she didn't read emails thoroughly, missed deadlines, and it took her 3 tries to get into the Remote Call Center Agent (RCCA) class. Nevertheless, Anne pushed through and completed the RCCA class and was able to start applying for positions with NTI.

“When I applied for the eMentor job, I didn't think I would qualify but I got the interview and was offered the job. There are no words to express how that rocked my world. Somebody believed in me!” Anne said.

Anne has now been with NTI for over 5 years! Her role has transitioned over the years from eMentor to Job Coach. The basic responsibilities are still the same. It is her job to guide people through the NTI process. Anne takes pride in listening to the people she is helping and offering them encouragement all the way. She knows what it is like to struggle through the process with insecurity and doesn’t want anyone else to experience that.

Here is what Anne has to say about her job. “Working for NTI has changed my life in many positive ways. I can relate to our disabled candidates because I came to NTI as a disabled person. Before becoming disabled, I always loved working, no matter what the job. So, when I was injured in 2000 and could no longer work, I spiraled into depression. My life was nothing more than laying on the couch, eating gummy bears, and watching old movies. It took me the better part of a year to overcome anxiety around doing my job, but I persevered, developed a great support network with my teammates, and fell in love with my work.”

“Over the years I've seen this organization change hundreds of lives just like mine. NTI isn't just an Employment Network. It is a network of amazing people who offer hope. NTI continues to adapt to changing times and is always working to improve processes to make returning to work as simple and joyful as possible. Every person who works here cares about our candidates and works hard to help them reach their goals. I am beyond grateful for this organization and how it's changed my life.”

NTI is lucky to have Anne and so many other empathetic and dedicated employees just like her.
